Electrify Your Strings! (EYS) is a music program that FIRES UP students and local communities by injecting a high voltage dose of energy into a school's music program. Created by international recording artist, electric violinist, Emmy Award winner and founding member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mark Wood, accomplishes this by bringing his EYS team of artists, (Laura Kaye, Bridgid Bibbens), to work with students to put a real life, real world rock concert complete with lighting effects and sound!
Mark Wood and his EYS team have performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in music including Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Dee Snyder (Twisted Sister) Billy Joel, James Brown, Lenny Kravitz, Aretha Franklin, Sean Lennon, Steven Tyler, Roger Daltry, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, John Mayer, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Gilby Clarke (Guns ‘N’ Roses), Johnny Colt (the Black Crowes), Josh Groban, Harry Connick Jr, Steve Vai, Frank Sinatra.
With performances at Carnegie Hall. Madison Square Garden and the Lincoln Center, Mark Wood and EYS have appeared on Entertainment Tonight, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, NBC Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning, Late Night with David Letterman, CBS News, the CBS Early Show as well as Time Magazine.
Mark Wood has served on the board of the American String Teachers Association.
